Typography (2019)
Designed for Print: 30" x 40"
The History of Typography Poster Series was a research and design project meant to represent the historical relationship between three different typeface families. I designed posters for Wittenberger of the Fraktur typeface family designed by the Monotype Foundry in 1908, Futura designed by German Designer Paul Renner in 1927, and Walbaum designed in Germany in the 1800s. I focused my research on the social impact that these three different typefaces had in Germany and the rough political opposition that came with making the transition from the traditional blackletter typeface family to roman typefaces like Futura by Renner.
